Swedish Business Days in Ekaterinburg

November 20-22, 2008 Ekaterinburg - the capital of Ural - welcomed the third visit of Swedish business and cultural delegation. The event was organized by the Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Trade Council.

Traditionally the Swedish Business days were opened by Tomas Bertelman, the Embassador of Sweden in Russia and the Minister of Foreign Relations of Sverdlovsk Oblast, Alexander Kharlov. The ceremony was followed by a panel discussion on Swedish business development in the region. Ekaterinburg's leading Swedish companies took part in the discussion, such as Rezidor Park Inn, represented by Charles Otter, general manager of the hotel, IKEA/MEGA, represented by Lilia Nenasheva, deputy manager, Jan Nillson, managing director of JN Trade and Fagerhult, presented by Nikita Chernovalov (SRBC representative in the Urals). Discussion caused interest of the audience in such aspects as personnel, facilities, migration and local approach to business.

Particular interest from Sverdlovsk oblast authorities and business socienty raised Swedish energysaving and infrastructural technologies. Swedish businessmen visited local IT enterprise, Mirex Group, one of the biggest manufacturer of CD and DVD discs in Russia.
